Renaissance Reading

To complete the Renaissance Reading program, students must read the required number of books and discuss each of those books with a faculty sponsor.  Students must meet all requirements listed below to be designated a Renaissance Reader.

Program Requirements

  • 9th graders must read five books during the academic year and discuss each book with a faculty sponsor
  • 10th - 12th graders must read one book for the Summer Reading Discussion and five additional books for a total of SIX books, each of which must be discussed with a faculty sponsor. Books may be read over the summer but the discussions must take place during the school year.
  • 10th - 12th graders must read at least one fiction and one non-fiction book
  • No more than two books may be by the same author
  • No more than two discussions may be held with the same teacher
  • If you would like to count a book for Renaissance Reading and the book is not on the current Renaissance Reading list, you must get a faculty sponsor for the book and have the book approved by Mr. Robertson

Renaissance Scholar Designation (Grades 10-12)

If you read and discuss a total of NINE books with faculty sponsors, and you meet all other Renaissance Reading requirements, you will receive the designation of Renaissance Scholar.

The final deadline for submitting titles is Friday, April 30, 2021.
